So, it looks like I’ll be heading back to Madison Square Garden! Internship round 2.
Anything to get to that final result of employment.

Cupcakes for my last day interning! (Taken with Instagram at Madison Square Garden)
They all pretty much told me that I was the best intern this semester and that they all wish to help me in the future, whether it be within Madison Square Garden or recommendations for another job.

Today is my last day interning at Madison Square Garden.
It’s a bittersweet feeling. It was my first taste of being in the Entertainment Industry and I absolutely loved it. I worked on projects for the teams (Knicks, Rangers, Devils, Islanders, Sabres, Liberty, Red Bulls), networks (MSG, MSG+, Fuse) and venues (MSG, Radio City, Beacon Theatre). I absolutely learned and experienced a lot as well as made a lot of contacts.
I literally spent the majority of my time here. I’m not sure what’s next, but I’m working on that. I need something (hopefully entertainment-related) to fill all of that time.

Last trip you went on and one major highlight.

Day 10.

First of all, what’s the definition of a trip? Like how long can it be until it’s not a trip anymore, is there a time frame?

I’m not 100% on making New York my permanent place of residence, so even though I’ve been here for almost 7 months, can I still consider this a trip? Is it possible to take a 1 or 2 year “trip”..?

Well if so, the biggest highlight would be interning at Madison Square Garden. I’ve talked plenty about this, but I take nothing for granted so having the opportunity to work for one of the most popular arenas and biggest brands in the world is the most major highlight I have so far.

That’s gonna have to count, because I don’t really go anywhere.

Not that you care about Nickelback, but my first featured article just so happens to be about Nickelback.
As I mentioned previously, I had to cover their concert at Madison Square Garden and write a positive review no matter what.
I did what I could to make it sound somewhat exciting. You can click the picture or here to read the article.

The latest random thing that happened to you.

Day 8.

Last Thursday I had to cover the Nickelback, Bush, Seether and My Darkest Days concert at Madison Square Garden.

And since I had employee access, I was right next to the stage, but on the side. So, when I casually went to go to the bathroom it was then I realized that the band’s dressing rooms were right there and I ended up sharing a bathroom with My Darkest Days. I’m not a fan or anything, so I just told them they played a good set and then continued to pee lol.

And then after Nickelback finished, as I was exiting backstage I ran into their drummer and said “good show” to him as I walked by and he thanked me.

It was sort of cool, but definitely would’ve been more awesome if it were bands that I wanted to see. I will say though, I thought the concert was going to suck completely and it actually only sucked a little.

Most recent person you started following on Tumblr and why?

Day 2.

Although, the tumblr hasn’t been updated in a month, the last blog I followed was Big Picture Media. I followed them because I recently interviewed for a summer internship with them.

And this post is actually really relevant, because I got the email today that I got the Digital Marketing Internship starting June 1!!! (Maybe I’ll be the one to take over the tumblr and bring it new life?)

I’m trying to fluff up my resume as much as possible and as fast as possible, because I didn’t take the time to do all of this while I was actually in college.

Oh yea, official admin on blueshirtsunited.com!
NY Rangers playoffs start tonight, so I’m going to be super busy.

Tomorrow

I have an interview for a digital marketing internship at the PR agency Big Picture Media. Some of their clients include:

  • Anberlin
  • Cute Is What We Aim For
  • Every Avenue
  • The Maine
  • The Secret Handshake
  • Taboo (from The Black Eyed Peas)
  • The Summer Set
  • Thrice
  • The Used

It’s unpaid, but I really want it! The only problem though is if they would want me to start within the next 2 months (the post didn’t say if it’s an immediate start or a summer position) because I won’t be free until the end of May. I wish there were more hours in the day…

I’m just hoping to have a good interview so if my availability does get in the way now, maybe they would still consider me for a future position.

I’m at the Cirque du Soleil Michael Jackson IMMORTAL show. This is the closest thing to seeing MJ perform live with crazy acrobatics thrown in. Mind = Blown!

It was so hard to wake up this morning. I’m already 1 cup of coffee in, refill on deck.
But in reality, coffee doesn’t wake me up. I just like the taste (once it’s mostly cream and sugar) and the warmth it gives me…

Free cake because it’s Stan Fischler’s 80th birthday tomorrow!
I kinda feel bad, because I saw him in the office but I didn’t know so I didn’t say anything.
He has no idea who I am though and that was my first time actually seeing him, but I feel like I know the guy because I’m the one who puts all of his content on msg.com.
Oh well, the cake was delicious!

Not the clearest picture (I was in too much of a hurry to dig in),
But this is a mound of cheddar eggs, bacon, ham and sausage on top of a stack of pancakes.
Breakfast for dinner is always great, but it’s even better when it’s free!
